A gravatar is a globally recognized avatar, your personalized thumbnail image that follows you around the web when you’re commenting and writing on WordPress based blogsites and other CMS systems. If you don’t have a gravatar setup and comment on other blogsites, you’ll notice a default image appearing which is chosen by the blogsite owner.
